Fruit Inspectors (fruitinspectors.com) is a small, ad-free website. This page explains what information is collected when you visit and the choices you have.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as how many people visit, which pages they read, how they found us, and roughly where they are (country or city). Google Analytics may record:
- Pages you view and how long you stay
- The site or search that referred you
- Your device type, browser, and screen size
- Approximate location derived from your connection
- Simple interactions such as scrolling and clicks on outbound links
To do this, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_*). We see only aggregated reports; we don’t use analytics to identify individual visitors. Google processes this data under its own terms, described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Your choices
When you first visit, you can accept or decline analytics. If you decline, analytics cookies are not set. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland are not tracked unless they accept. You can change your choice at any time:
You can also block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
What we don’t do
- We don’t run ads or use advertising cookies.
- We don’t sell or share your information.
- We don’t ask for accounts, sign-ups, or payment.
News stories and images
Our news section links to articles on other websites, and story thumbnails load directly from those publishers. When your browser loads a thumbnail or you follow a link, that publisher receives your request in the usual way and its own privacy policy applies.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and maintenance.
Changes
If we change how the site handles information, we’ll update this page and the date above.
